MISSIONS

The Ministry’s zeal to go into the Harvest field earned it a second assembly at Asante-Mampong in 1991. This was made possible after house-to[1]house visits by the youth and an open-air crusade had been organized in the town. A senior nurse at the Mampong Gov’t Hospital and a member of the Ministry, Miss Rose Dwamena championed this course. One outstanding convert from the crusade, was late Mr. Ebenezer Osei, who became a pastor in the Ministry. The Mampong Assembly was given a Pastor to take care of in February 1992. Rev. Stephen Agyen was the first pastor to handle the pastorate. He worked so hard that the Assembly has a beautiful temple and a place of residence for the pastor. Other branches have been established in Ashanti, Ahafo, Brong, Greater Accra and the Upper East regions in Ghana. The latest among them is at Koforidua in the Eastern Region. There is also a nursery assembly at New York in the USA. HEM lost one assembly in 1998. It is the only “break-away” experience HEM has come across. It happened at Goaso in the Ahafo Region. Like the other mission grounds, Bantama Assembly sponsored the new assembly by providing it with equipment. It also assisted in building a Worship Centre (Temple) for it. Rev. Ahiaba Kudjoe who had resigned from the C.A.C was given this assembly to take care of. After few years, Pastor Ahiaba took away the assembly, the members and all other property the assembly had acquired.

Conversely in 2008, the leadership of Christ Glorious Church in the Brong Region sought to become part of HEM. This was when the founder and the entire leadership had accepted the faith, teachings and government of HEM. A memorandum of understanding was reached between HEM and the Christ Glorious Church and the latter was absorbed into the former. The founder of the Christ Glorious Church, Prophet Isaac Kudjoe, his three other pastors, and the entire membership together with the church’s property have become part of HEM.

BIBLE STUDIES

Another area the ministry intensified was the Bible Studies Program. It was done on Sunday evenings. Rev. Ola organized this to beef-up the soul-winning program. Attendance was so encouraging that attendants ran to avoid missing seats at the Worship Centre. Again, the attendants were mostly the youth many of whom came from different churches and para-churches in the Kumasi City. Since the ministry is apostolic oriented, teachings were directed in that course and they were Christ Centered. The Bible Studies program sped up the growth of the ministry in numbers. The program is on-going but it is done on Thursday evenings.

CONVENTIONS

Like other Pentecostal Churches, HEM has been organizing national conventions which are seasonal. They are held during the Easter Festive periods mostly at Bantama-Kumasi. Participants come from all assemblies across the country for a 3-day Convention. However, few national Conventions have been held outside Bantama. There was one at Nsoatre (2011), Mampong (2012), Bibiani (2013) and Sunyani (2019). Also Conventions have been held at district and local levels during the Easter Festivities. At any of these Conventions, preaching messages have been centered on the “Death and the Resurrection” of Christ.

There is also the Fasting and Prayer meeting. This is a 28-day fasting and prayer program held in January every year. It has become an Annual practice in HEM organized in every assembly. The fasting and prayer program has been adopted by many churches today in the country. There is also the 2-week Prayer Convention. This is held by the Bantama Assembly mostly at the beginning of the last quarter of the year. However, few assemblies in the ministry have also adopted it. At this Convention some pastors are invited from outside to minister. Such Guest Speakers include Rev. George Obeng of Mighty Word Ministry Kumasi, Bishop Yaw Owusu Ansah of the Resurrection Power Ministry (Accra) and Apostle Samuel Ntim of Conquerors Global Ministry, Takoradi.
